Veera Mahajan never imagined that she would become the face of empowerment for millions of women worldwide. However, as she stood on the stage of her TEDx talk, recounting her journey from being abused to empowered, she knew that her story needed to be heard by many more. And that’s precisely what happened.
After her talk went viral, Veera received numerous messages from people worldwide, telling her how her words had inspired them to leave their abusive relationships or seek help. She recognized that her story could make a difference in so many lives. That’s when TED Talks contacted her.
Initially hesitant, Veera had never acted before and wasn’t sure if she could handle the pressure of being on the world stage through TED Talks. However, she knew that this was her chance to share her story with even more people. With the support of her family and friends, she agreed to take on the role.
Veera’s journey from India to the US was tough, but she was determined to create a new life when she arrived here at 19. She relived some of the most painful moments of her life but also celebrated her triumphs. She married at 21, had two wonderful sons, and later got divorced, eventually moving from Michigan to Malibu. She was amazed at the level of freedom and empowerment she experienced.

Veera Mahajan is a highly accomplished Producer, Author, Mediator, and Public Speaker, renowned for her expertise in conflict resolution and her commitment to community leadership. She is the author of the critically acclaimed book, “Unreported,” which sheds light on the often-hidden issue of domestic abuse and provides a roadmap for recognizing and overcoming it.
Veera holds a master’s degree in Dispute Resolution from the prestigious Pepperdine School of Law; Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution. With her exceptional skills in mediation and communication, Veera leads a multi-faceted team of private clients, educating them on the causes and solutions of crisis and conflicts.
In addition to her private practice, Veera successfully holds a position as Communications Coordinator in the institutional and educational world. Her wise teaching of peacemaking skills to both the student body and faculty alike fosters an environment of respect and understanding, resolving conflicts with calmness and logic.

As a mother of two sons, Veera enjoys reading, writing, running, hiking, dancing, and doing yoga in her spare time.
