  1. Tell us about your success journey as becoming a success at University High School

When I came to University High School starting my 9th grade year, I was eager to see what the high school experience would be like. I wasn’t afraid of the new environment I had been confronted with, nor the new people in it. I just kept the same positive mindset I had before getting to high school and focused on myself. Through my hard work, social skills, and determination, I gained recognition quickly at Uni and became a commodity at the school. I continued my 5+ year streak of making the academic honor roll and I also made the Varsity football team & Varsity track team in my 9th grade year, proving that hard work pays off. I translated these efforts in my 10th, and now 11th grade year, despite the adversity I have been faced with the last couple of years. As more and more people recognized my accomplishments and positive character traits, I became an ambassador and a positive role model for my high school.

2. What advice would you give to someone who likes to follow your footsteps ?

I’d advise them to always strive for the best and keep a growth mindset. Do not let outside distractions side track you from achieving your goals and becoming successful. Life can be a journey full of ups and downs and despite anything that happens, you have to learn how to live and grow.

What do you do on the daily basis to keep a healthy lifestyle and sleep over 8 hours a day ?

Although there may be some nights where I do not sleep over 8 hours, I try to maintain a healthy lifestyle and get sufficient sleep by making sure I exercise, have a balanced diet, and finish my homework. I prioritize the most important things that I have to do (self-care homework, eating a nutritious meal, etc) and I make sure I complete them before I move on to my other objectives, in effort of successful time management. I try to make every day a productive, well spent day.
